About The Gaslight Anthem

The Gaslight Anthem is an American rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey that was formed in 2006. The band consists of lead vocalist Brian Fallon alongside Alex Rosamilia on lead guitar, Alex Levine on bass guitar, and Benny Horowitz on drums.

The band’s style can be described as being part of New Jersey’s rich punk tradition that spanned from the Misfits to the Bouncing Souls. They also embrace elements of the Jersey Shore sound as well as elements of Bruce Springsteen. This combined influence is celebrated by fans and critics alike who love the unique sounds this band has to offer.

It’s interesting to think though that the band never claimed to sound like the New Jersey Icon. In fact, one critic wrote that, “The Gaslight Anthem are like something out of speculative fiction: this is what pop music would be if Springsteen hadn’t listened to his producer, let the Ramones record Hungry Heart, and launched the C.B.G.B.’ers into megastardom.”. As ot the Springsteen influence, Horowitz and Rosamilia that while they liked Springsteen’s work, they didn’t become true fans until they met and worked with Fallon.

Over the band’s career, they have put out 5 studio albums and have taken two brief hiatuses only to come back stronger than ever. From their debut album, “Sink or Swim” to their latest album, “Get Hurt” released in 2014, The Gaslight Anthem have produced consistently crowd-pleasing sounds. And one thing’s for certain, theis band doesn’t look ready to stop rocking out in front of packed capacity crowds.
